Beef Bulgogi Recipe

I would never say this is an authentic way of cooking Beef Bulgogi but this is the way I always make it for my family and they love it! :)

Beef Bulgogi is a beloved Korean dish known for its savory, sweet, and slightly spicy flavors. Here’s a simple recipe to recreate this delicious meal at home!


Ingredients:

- 1 pound of thinly sliced beef (such as sirloin or ribeye)

- 1/2 cup of soy sauce

- 3 tablespoons of brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil

- 3 cloves of garlic, minced

- 1 tablespoon of grated ginger

- 2 green onions, thinly sliced

- 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds (optional)

- Freshly ground black pepper

- Cooking oil (for grilling or frying)


Instructions:


**1. Prepare the Marinade:**

- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, sliced green onions, sesame seeds (if using), and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper. Mix well until the sugar has dissolved.


**2. Marinate the Beef:**

- Place the thinly sliced beef into a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the beef, making sure all pieces are coated evenly. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for the flavors to meld.


**3. Cook the Bulgogi:**

- Heat a wok, grill pan, skillet, or griddle over medium-high heat. Lightly coat with cooking oil to prevent sticking.

- Remove the beef from the marinade, shaking off excess marinade, and place it in a single layer on the hot pan or grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the beef is cooked through and caramelized with a slightly charred edge.


**4. Serve:**

- Transfer the cooked beef bulgogi to a serving plate. Garnish with additional sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot with steamed rice and your favorite side dishes like kimchi or lettuce leaves for wrapping.
